„The Things I’ve Seen but Didn’t Have a Smartphone” series is my hommage to Hong Kong. During my three months long stay in there, I used to do long walks without the Internet on my mobile. I believe that nowadays temptation of staying constantly online may cause serious distraction. It is easy to miss all those interesting and inspiring moments around us and the opportunity of seeing a wider narration behind them. No internet, maps or translator lead me to many inspiring situations. The fact that I couldn't take a picture of them made me search for a reason why exactly those moments were so interesting. Drawing instead of taking pictures gave the opportunity of choosing the perfect composition, perspective, and the main character for telling the exact story. Sometimes those stories can become a metaphor of something bigger like ourselves, society, our times, aspirations, dreams or struggles.
